My Favorite Reads

Funny

  • "Seriously... I'm Kidding" by Ellen Degeneres (I listened to this on Audible and it is so much fun to hear Ellen reading it!)

  • "Modern Romance" by Aziz Ansari (I'm obsessed with Aziz and also highly recommend his show, "Master of None.")

  • "Yes Please" by Amy Poehler (Listened to this one on Audible too, read by Amy herself!)

Sporty

  • "The Boys in the Boat" by Daniel James Brown (During the 2016 Olympic year I was inspired by this book about the 1936 Berlin Olympics.)

  • "Running for my Life" by Lopez Lomong (Lopez is my BTC teammate, nicest guy ever, 2x Olympian, and a Lost Boy of Sudan. He has an amazing story to tell.)

Self-helpy

  • "What I Know For Sure" by Oprah Winfrey (My favorite book of all time, I've read and re-read over a dozen times. Obsessed.)

  • "You are a Badass" by Jen Sincero (Preach, Jen! My teammate, Shelby, recommended this one to me and I love it! Positive vibes!)

  • "Grit" by Angela Duckworth (One of my favorite words- "grit" is about dedication to your passion being more important than talent. p.s. Duckworth has a TED talk about grit too)

Stories

  • "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult (Picoult is my favorite novelist. I've read 9 of her books, but this is the best one in my opinion.)

  • "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coehlo and Daniel Sampere (Two of my favorite people, Oprah Winfrey and Shalane Flanagan, recommended this one.)

Nonfiction

  • "I am Malala" by Malala Yousafzai  (A powerful and inspiring story of a young Pakistani girl who stands up for education.)

  • "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell (Awesome book for anyone trying to be the best at whatever it is they do.)
